CONNECTING
IN AN AGE OF
DIGITAL NOISE
We’re working to reduce the negative impact of smartphones and social media on young people
Empowering families to delay smartphones until children are developmentally ready
Encouraging the whole community to unplug and take part in regular digital detoxes
Supporting schools to become smartphone-access free
our aims
our mission
Whitstable Unplugged is empowering families, schools, and local organisations with the tools and support they need to help children to thrive in an age of constant digital connectivity.
We were founded by a group of concerned parents who wanted to address the negative impact smartphones and social media were having on children’s lives. What began as a local conversation in Whitstable has become a community movement that continues to grow.
